Update dated 19/3/2020

Further to our statements regarding Covid-19 and the impact on public gatherings, the auction at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel is now NOT taking place. We are also being told that it may be likely that any further viewings that may have been scheduled for next week on Monday & Wednesday may not be possible to conduct. We are therefore asking that if you are interested in purchasing any of the current Auction Lots, we would like to provide you with an opportunity to submit your Best Bid in writing to us using the Telephone Bidding forms for any lots you are interested in by 2pm this Friday 20th March. This form can be emailed to Rachel Gibbs on rachel.gibbs@fox-and-sons.co.uk

Initially we will also need you to supply scanned copies of your ID as per the attached bidder ID document. If your bid is successful we will issue you an invite to our online ID verification system Credas to satisfy our money laundering regulations. Once your bid has been received, we will discuss this with the seller of each lot and take instructions from them regarding selling the property under an Auction Contract to you, providing the reserve price has been met. In the event of a number of bids being received on a property close to each other or of the same amount, we will advise on how the matter will be resolved , which may well be a final offer or a quick telephone bid auction so that we may demonstrate complete fairness to all parties that is usually demonstrated in the Auction Room.

Please fill in and return to us the Telephone/Proxy Bidding forms, including the offer you want to submit, along with 2 forms of ID. Once we have received your forms we will contact you to take debit card details for the deposit and £1,000 contract fee in the event you are successful. All forms submitted are on the basis that you can exchange contracts under auction terms as you would have done if you were bidding in the auction next week.
